About me and my work
My name is
Yujin Jung and I was born in Seoul, South-Korea,
in 1973. After graduating from high school I
attended Ehwa Womans University in Seoul, from
where I graduated with a B.F.A. in Fine Arts in
1999. After that I worked in various design
companies in Seoul. Later in 1999 I met my future
husband in Seoul and in 2000 I moved to Hamburg,
Germany, where I started to learn German and
entered Hamburg University in 2001.
In 2002
during the Korea-Japan Soccer World Cup I worked
together with my husband as a translator and
advisor for the German TV station ARD. Until I
moved back to Korea in February 2003 I studied
German and Korean studies at Hamburg University. I
currently work at the 5th Gwangju Biennale, the
largest of its kind of Contemporary Artworks
Exhibition in Asia. I also work together with my
husband as photographer and writer for various
magazines in Europe and here in Korea.
My interests
As I have studied art, this is where my
heart lies. I love to draw and paint and working
at the Gwangju Biennale is very demanding but
fulfilling for me at the same time. Travelling
also has become a great passion of mine. I have
also started to learn to ride motorcycles and
hope to get my own bike not too far in the
future.
